Position Overview:
The Technical Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have experience managing technical projects in the aerospace or engineering industries and a passion for driving innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end management of technical projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and product managers, to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address potential roadblocks.
- Manage project documentation, including technical specifications, reports, and change requests, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Facilitate regular project status meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within project teams.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Support resource planning, including staffing needs and allocation of technical expertise for projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience managing technical projects, preferably in the aerospace, engineering, or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, MS Project, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with aerospace systems, engineering processes, or software development life cycles is highly desirable.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified Scrum Master) is a plus.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote environment, managing distributed teams across different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation in technical projects.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing, design processes, or systems engineering.
- Hands-on experience with technical tools, software, or systems used in aerospace projects.
