We are seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our remote team, where you will play a critical role in analyzing complex datasets, developing analytics tools, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Position Overview:
The Analytics Engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining data systems, pipelines, and tools to support business and engineering teams in extracting actionable insights. This role combines software engineering and data science, requiring expertise in analytics, data manipulation, and data pipeline development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with large datasets, developing automated analytics solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve operational performance through data insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, deploy, and maintain scalable data pipelines that automate data collection, transformation, and loading (ETL processes).
- Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business analysts to understand data needs and build solutions to support their analytics efforts.
- Design and implement tools and platforms that allow teams to access and analyze data efficiently, improving operational decision-making.
- Build automated reporting and dashboard systems for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing insights to stakeholders across the company.
- Integrate and aggregate data from various sources, ensuring data consistency, reliability, and quality.
- Use statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and uncover actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data pipelines and analytics systems meet the needs of various departments (e.g., engineering, operations, finance).
- Conduct performance analysis of data systems, optimize database queries, and improve the efficiency of data processing and analysis workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality, accurate data is available for decision-making.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on how to best utilize analytics tools and data systems.
- Stay current on the latest trends and technologies in data analytics, machine learning, and cloud computing to continuously improve the organization’s analytics capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar role, preferably in a high-tech or aerospace environment.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience in working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in Python, R, or other programming languages used in data manipulation and analysis.
- Experience with data pipeline development and ETL tools such as Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and big data technologies.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modeling techniques.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, data governance, and best practices for data security and privacy.
- Experience in building and maintaining scalable, reliable data infrastructure for large datasets.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote work environment while maintaining strong communication and collaboration with the team.
- Experience in the aerospace or defense industry is a plus.
