Position Overview:
The Database Developer will design and manage databases that store and organize data essential for aerospace development, mission planning, and operational analytics. This role requires expertise in database architecture, optimization, and security, along with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain relational and non-relational database systems to support aerospace projects and business operations.
- Optimize database performance, ensuring efficient query execution and data retrieval.
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.
- Collaborate with software developers, analysts, and engineers to define database requirements and implement solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and backup processes are in place and regularly reviewed.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, reporting, and analytics.
- Develop database schemas, tables, views, triggers, and stored procedures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, providing timely resolutions.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging database technologies, and security standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in database development and management.
- Proficiency in database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or MongoDB.
- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with data integration tools and ETL frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud database solutions such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud Firestore.
- Knowledge of database security practices and encryption methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in a remote, team-oriented environment.
- Experience in the aerospace or technology sector is a plus.
