Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop laser systems for applications such as propulsion, communication, and sensing.
- Perform simulations and calculations to optimize laser performance and efficiency.
- Conduct experiments to characterize and validate laser systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and optical engineers to integrate lasers into larger systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laser systems.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
- Stay updated on advancements in laser technology and recommend innovative solutions for aerospace applications.
- Ensure all systems comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in laser system design and development, preferably in aerospace or related industries.
- Proficiency in laser design tools and software, such as Zemax, Lumerical, or similar.
- Strong understanding of laser physics, optical components, and beam control systems.
- Experience with hands-on laser assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with system integration and real-world deployment of laser technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities in a remote work environment.
- Knowledge of aerospace systems and environmental requirements is a plus.
