Position Overview:
The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes for aerospace components and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing techniques, materials, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure our products meet stringent performance and reliability requirements while maintaining cost and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for aerospace components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to transition prototypes to full-scale production.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and control plans.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure consistency.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source and validate materials, tools, and equipment.
- Utilize CAD software and other tools to design fixtures, jigs, and tooling for manufacturing.
- Monitor production metrics and provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or a similar high-precision industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX) and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of materials used in aerospace applications, such as composites, metals, and advanced alloys.
- Experience with manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining, 3D printing, and additive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
