Design Engineer

We are seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of aerospace components and systems. This is a remote position, providing the opportunity to work on cutting-edge space projects from anywhere in the world.

Position Overview:

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and analyzing aerospace structures and propulsion components. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions that meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop aerospace components, including propulsion systems, structural elements, and fluid systems.
  • Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation using software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and computational simulations to ensure structural integrity and performance.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, weight reduction, and thermal efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and testing teams to transition designs from concept to production.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify and resolve design challenges, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Document design processes, engineering decisions, and technical justifications for review.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in aerospace design and materials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar).
  • Experience with FEA and simulation tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or HyperMesh.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace structures, thermal management, and fluid dynamics.
  • Familiarity with materials selection for high-performance aerospace applications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and composite fabrication.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple design tasks efficiently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing rocket propulsion systems, nozzles, or pressure vessels.
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and thermal analysis.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, ASTM, and NASA specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and aerospace component testing.
