We are seeking a Remote Maintainability Engineer to optimize the maintainability, reliability, and lifecycle management of our aerospace systems. Position Overview:
As a Maintainability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that Chimera Rocket Labs’ aerospace systems are designed for efficient maintenance, repair, and operational readiness. Your role will involve conducting maintainability analysis, developing maintenance procedures, and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance system reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintainability requirements for aerospace components and systems.
- Conduct maintainability analysis, including failure mode assessments and repair time predictions.
- Optimize system designs for ease of inspection, servicing, and replacement.
- Develop detailed maintenance procedures, technical manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with design, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to enhance product lifecycle efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate potential maintenance-related risks to improve system availability.
- Support the development of diagnostic tools and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including MIL-STD, NASA specifications, and AS9100.
- Analyze operational data to improve maintenance cycles and reduce downtime.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in maintainability engineering, reliability engineering, or lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of aerospace systems, propulsion technologies, and structural components.
- Experience with failure analysis techniques such as FMECA, FTA, and RCM.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning software and modeling tools (e.g., ReliaSoft, RAM Commander).
- Knowledge of aerospace standards for maintenance, reliability, and safety compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in spacecraft, launch vehicle, or defense system maintainability.
- Hands-on experience with maintenance support tools, predictive analytics, or AI-driven diagnostics.
- Familiarity with digital twin technology for maintenance optimization.
- Background in logistics, supply chain, or operational sustainment for aerospace systems.
