Job Summary
As a Systems Engineer Intern, you will assist in the design, analysis, and integration of complex aerospace systems. You will work on requirements development, system architecture, risk assessment, and performance optimization for various spacecraft and rocket components. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to develop their engineering skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in requirements gathering, system design, and trade studies for aerospace projects.
- Support modeling, simulation, and performance analysis of rocket systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of subsystems.
- Perform risk assessments and failure mode analysis to enhance system reliability.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation, reports, and design reviews.
- Assist in testing and validation of system components in simulation environments.
- Research and implement emerging aerospace technologies to optimize system performance.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles, requirements management, and risk analysis.
- Knowledge of spacecraft and propulsion systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Passion for space exploration and a willingness to learn in a dynamic startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with systems modeling tools like Cameo, MagicDraw, or SysML.
- Understanding of propulsion, guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Previous internship or project experience in aerospace or related industries.
