Job Summary
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will assist in the design, testing, and integration of electrical systems for rocket propulsion, avionics, and spacecraft components. You will work alongside experienced engineers to develop circuit designs, power systems, and embedded systems for space applications. This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates eager to apply their electrical engineering skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electrical and electronic systems for rockets and spacecraft.
- Support PCB design, schematic capture, and circuit layout using tools like Altium or KiCad.
- Help develop and test power distribution systems, battery management, and energy storage solutions.
- Work with embedded systems and microcontrollers to design and test avionics and flight control systems.
- Perform electrical simulations and analysis to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Assist in wiring, assembly, and integration of electrical components in test setups and prototypes.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and aerospace engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
- Participate in troubleshooting and debugging electrical hardware and software issues.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation, test plans, and design reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in circuit design, signal processing, and power systems.
- Experience with PCB design software (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or similar).
- Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and FPGA development.
- Basic knowledge of power electronics and battery management systems.
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for electrical system modeling and control.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for space exploration and cutting-edge technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-voltage power systems, RF communication, or avionics.
- Knowledge of soldering, PCB fabrication, and electronic assembly.
- Understanding of electromagnetic interference (EMI) and grounding techniques.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analyzers.
- Previous internship or project experience in aerospace, robotics, or related industries.
